Mike Bennett is entering his sixth year at Green Mountain Union High School and is thrilled to step into his new role as Assistant Principal. Entering his 13th year in education spanning roles from Social Studies and Woodworking teacher to Electives Department Chair, he is deeply committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive and be prepared for life ahead. In addition to his administrative duties, he will also continue serving as the school's Work-Based Learning Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in History from Crown College, alongside Master's degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State University. This new opportunity allows him to collaborate closely with staff, families, and students to continue making GM an outstanding educational community.
A proud resident of downtown Chester, Mike and his family have lived and worked in the area for the past decade. He is married to his wife Rachel, an elementary school teacher in town, and together they have four children attending local schools, with their oldest having graduated from GM last year and now heading off to college. Beyond the classroom, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling as well as fishing and biking the local trails and watersheds of Vermont. Mike absolutely loves the Chester community and is excited to support its students and families in this new administrative chapter.
