Scholarships & Grants:

Due 3/10: The Knights of Columbus Scholastic Achievement Award Program. Requirements: Must be a son or daughter of a Knight of Columbus (paternal or legally adopted) in good standing in a subordinate Council within the Vermont jurisdiction are eligible. Sons or daughters of deceased members are also eligible if their father was in good standing at the time of his death. An applicant may be a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of a Columbian Squires Circle, in the jurisdiction of Vermont and a high school senior qualifying to graduate in June, 2017. Applications are available in Guidance. 

Due 3/17: American Legion Wallace McNulty Hoyle Post No. 4. Applicants must be Proctorsville or Cavendish town resident. Application is available in Guidance 

Due 3/17: Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service. The recipient will be selected on the basis of the student’s initiative in overcoming a specific challenge, leadership and service to community, and academic achievement. The recipient will demonstrate a commitment to furthering his or her education after high school. More information & official application are available online at www.vtvsa.org/scholarships-awards

Due 3/22: Berkshire Bank Foundation Inc., is now accepting applications for our 2017 scholarship awards program. Berkshire Bank Foundation Inc., the philanthropic arm of Berkshire Bank, will grant thirty-five (35) $1,500.00 scholarships to students who have exemplified community service through their volunteer efforts, have been successful academically and have a financial need.  The program highlights the Foundation’s support for education and the Bank’s commitment to promoting volunteerism in the community. Due 3/31: GMUHS Booster Club Scholarship supports the education of the well-rounded student who contributes to the school and/or community. This scholarship is based on merit rather than need and honors students who best embody the spirit of the Booster Club. Applications are available in Guidance.

Due NO LATER THAN 4/1: The American Legion Ray Greenwood Scholarship, Charles N. Barber Scholarship & $500 Scholarships. One application for three scholarships. Eligibility: Seniors attending a Vermont Secondary School, or a similar school in an adjoining state, whose parents are legal residents of the state of Vermont. Paper applications available in Guidance or apply online at www.vtlegion.org 

Due 4/3: Center for Workforce Development & Diversity (CWDD) scholarships provide awards to Vermont students who are Native American or First Generation college students pursuing a STEM major at a Vermont college or university. Due 4/3: The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund Early Response Application. This scholarship offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, a strong work ethics, grit and passion for overcoming obstacles and/or achieving future goals. Requirements: Must be a New England, High School Seniors who are planning to attend college as a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Due 4/5: Springfield Lodge #1560 Scholarship. This $500 award is offered to high school seniors who area US citizen and will be enrolled at a 4 year undergraduate degree program at accredited American Colleges or Universities. Application is available in Guidance. The counselor form for Pam O’Neil MUST be turned in to the Guidance Office a week prior to the scholarship deadline (by March 31st). 

Due 4/7: The Local Scholarship Booklet. This is one of the most important scholarship applications that our students will fill out. The pool of students applying to each scholarship will be smaller (town wide vs. statewide) and these scholarships are offered from area businesses & foundations looking to help out all types of students who are interested in attending college. Students: Don't take yourself out of the running because your GPA or rank in the class is not perfect, let the committee decide if you are the candidate that they would like to support. Like I said above, these committees like to support all types of students. Make sure you are specific as to what you will be studying - that is oftentimes very important to them. Applications will be available Monday, March 6th in Guidance.   

Due 4/15: Saxtons River Art Guild Scholarship. This award is made available to qualifying seniors at Bellows Falls UHS, Fall Mountain Regional HS, Brattleboro Union HS, Green Mountain UHS, or Vermont Academy. The purpose of this award is to assist artistically gifted students to pursue their training in the visual arts. Students must be continuing their education in the art field. Application is available in Guidance.

Due 4/15: American Legion Past Presidents Parley Nursing Scholarship. Applicants must be entering the nursing field (RN or LPN) to be eligible. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who is a son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, great grandson, great granddaughter, or step child of a veteran. Applications are available in Guidance. 

Due 4/16: HONORSGRADU Multimedia Scholarship. Honors Grad U is an educational blog dedicated to providing teachers with resources to help students graduate & go to college. We offer an annual scholarship available to college-bound high school seniors and college students with at least one year left of school. This is a chance for creative voices to be heard! Through art, music, photography, creative writing, or video, you can use our prompt to create and share your work for a chance at earning $1,000 toward your tuition.
