Green Mountain Union High School is warm and welcoming learning center with rigorous and relevant academic programming along with numerous co-curricular activities.

As I walked around our building after school yesterday I observed the following programs in action. The students were all actively engaged and having fun while learning.

The rock climbing club was on their climbing wall with their two coaches. The Iron Chef Team was preparing their special recipe in the kitchen with their coach. The homework club was settling in having just gotten their snacks. The school store was open and being run by grade 7 students. The softball team was taking batting practice in their newly installed batting cage. There was professional development in the Library Learning Commons for educators from southern Vermont, on the use of the green screen and movie making. In the theatre the students were in full rehearsal mode in preparation for their spring play.

And this morning, each student locker had a special note attached to it informing the owner of how special and unique they are.

This is but a glimpse of a typical day at our school.

Please review our Program of Studies linked on our front page. Besides the listed courses we also have a full array of tech courses offered at the River Valley Technical Center and numerous online courses. We also have a relationship with local colleges including Dartmouth and students may take college classes as well.
