Vision screening At GM

Each year, students in the State of Vermont receive mandatory vision screening in grades K-1-3-5-7-9 and 12, and for other students as needed.  The Springfield Lions Club purchased a Welch-Allyn SPOT Pediavision screener to use in area school districts and we were lucky enough to have them come to screen our students in 7th, 9th, and 12th grades on April 8tth.

The individual screening took a few seconds and was performed from a distance of about three feet. About 160 students and some staff were screened within two hours.  The students thought the technology was pretty interesting as a camera showed colored lights and sounds of birds chirping.

We would like to thank The Springfield Lions Club, along with the help of the Rutland Lions Club for coming to Green Mountain and performing this valuable service to our students.  We appreciate their desire in keeping our community healthy.
