The Chester Community Series continues in the month of February with a presentation by Steven Waldo. The event is Wednesday February 4th at 6pm in the Library Learning Commons at Green Mountain Union High School.

The presentation is titled Together We Can: Current Underage Drinking Issues, Trends, and Products. Research and Solutions. The event is a Community Update for 2015 where Steven Waldo will cover some of the current trends and statistics around drinking and driving and teens from around the world. He also will talk about what the tobacco, alcohol and marijuana industries are up to and will share with us new products that have been introduced to the marketplace,  and how they will use these products to reach teens. He can speak to current research and trends and what the researchers are indicating might be our best approach to reducing the harm caused by these products.

Steven Waldo has been employed as an Investigator for the Vermont Department of Liquor Control for the past thirty-two years and a certified law enforcement officer for the past thirty-two years. Steven is an active participant in more than six community coalitions in Vermont. He is also a member of two START teams which are coalitions of law enforcement, court and community leaders tasked with enforcing the laws regarding teen parties. Steven’s expertise is far more extensive then this and we are grateful to have him as an important part of our prevention efforts in this community. The presentation is open to the public and free to all. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
